About Lexington Square
Lexington Square is a family-owned company where
residents, family and friends are extensions of our family.
The Lexington story begins back in 1983, when a young family
purchased land in Lombard with the intention of developing a
state-of-the-art senior health care facility. The goal was to create a
place where residents could recover from a short spell of illness or
spend the duration of their life with caring support from compassionate
staff. When the doors finally opened in 1984, Lexington Health Care
officially was launched.
From 1984 to 1996, the family created a dynamic and comprehensive
health care system that grew to include 10 health care centers, two
independent Life Care communities, and a home health care agency. This
rapid growth is
attributed to the family’s desire to expand a developed template for
superior health and senior care—a family business caring for families
in need.
Today, Lexington manages more than 2,000 skilled nursing beds in 10
health care centers, more than 500 independent retirement units and
more than 70 assisted living units at Lombard Square. Our diverse
health care offerings include home health, hospice and sleep center
services through our affiliate Merit Health Care. Together, Lexington
and Merit employ more than 2,500 full and part time people and provide
immeasurable value to the communities we serve. All of our facilities
are located in the Chicagoland suburbs, providing management and
ownership daily opportunities for ongoing involvement and support.
Lexington is a full spectrum company. This means we are able to care
for seniors wherever they prefer to live and can accommodate them with
ease if they choose or need to move. With home care, independent
living, assisted living and health care center options in place,
Lexington offers residents continuity of philosophy, care and
compassion in an environment of their choice. In addition, staff in
each entity communicates regularly and works side by side to secure the
most favorable living situation for each resident.
As a family-owned company, we have a unique perspective: Whether you’re
a resident, family member or employee, you are considered to be an
extension of our family. In an industry of rapid change and growth, one
thing that will never change is our commitment to family values.
That’s our story. We invite you to become a part of our future, and a part of our family.
