FAQs About Our Chicago Senior Living Community (Frequently Asked Questions)
How do I reserve an apartment home?
You may apply to become a resident by selecting an apartment home that best fits your lifestyle and is in line with your financial resources. You secure your reservation with a fully refundable deposit and an application for review by our Executive Director.
What happens after you approve my application?
Upon acceptance of your application, you simply sign the residency agreement, which outlines the details of your living arrangements. Then, you work closely with our Move-In Assistant throughout the process to ensure a smooth transition to your new home…and finally, move in.
What about health insurance?
Lexington Square requires you to maintain Medicare Part A, Medicare Part B and one supplemental health insurance policy or equivalent insurance coverage. In some cases your personal long-term care insurance policy may also offset those monthly costs.
How does Lexington Health Care fit into the care continuum?
As a resident, you have priority access to all levels of care services within the Squares and are eligible for a health care benefit and guaranteed priority admission to Lexington Healthcare Centers for skilled nursing and rehabilitation services.
What levels of service does Lexington Square offer?
Personal Care– Personal care is available if you require some assistance in your apartment home, such as medication reminders, escort services and other support related to daily living. Generally used on a temporary basis to provide additional support after a hospitalization, or rehabilitation stay.
Special help is also accessible if you are not feeling well or are recuperating from an illness. When Personal Care is not enough, we’ve dedicated assisted living floors for residents who require more comprehensive assistance with daily living activities.
The Commons – Where care is anything but common – Licensed Assisted Living
We provide a specialized dedicated staff on a licensed floor that provides customized assistance with daily living while fostering independence in your own private apartment.
Memory Care – Licensed and Secured (at Lombard)
Our Memory Care Program is a highly specialized dimension of care exclusively for residents with Alzheimer’s disease or other types of memory impairment. These services are available on a licensed and secure floor with trained dedicated staff.
Respite in Assisted Living or Memory Care
The Respite Program at Lexington Square is a short-term living arrangement. Your loved one stays in our furnished apartment home, and we step in as caregivers so you have a well-deserved and necessary break.
